…helping you make the impossible, possible

I work with individuals, teams and across organisations or communities to help you deliver impossible results. Over the last 25 years this has included working with large corporations, entrepreneurs, sports professionals and charities, as well as large-scale projects such as the 2012 Olympics. I am a Non-Executive Director of EMMY and BAFTA-winning visual effects company Jellyfish Pictures, and a writer and speaker on issues ranging from leadership, to flexible thinking and the dynamics of conversation. I write a blog for Psychology Today and my books are 'Blamestorming' (2014) and 'Workstorming' (2016). Do also visit www.conversationexpert.com

Work has included the following:

Quote, unquote

"Once Rob is working with you, he doesn't let you off the hook or settle for just okay results - he'll always push you and your team to greatness. He truly makes a difference."

Pete Marsden
Chief Technology Director
BBC Worldwide

The route through my professional life has not been traditional or linear.  I worked with amputees at the age of 18 in India, before completing a degree in English at the University of York and becoming a professional artist with work sold in 24 countries.

For the last 20 years, I have passionately explored 2 themes: the power of communication to transform people’s lives, and how to approach and fulfil challenges that are widely considered to be impossible. This has involved working with leaders and teams on every continent, and leading public and corporate programmes with many thousands of people, as well as speaking and writing. Highlights have included:

  • Working with organisations undergoing huge upheaval, such as AT&T, Shell, and Nedbank in South Africa
  • Supporting companies that are out to break the mould, such as Burberry, smile, Selfridges, Saatchi & Saatchi, Zopa
  • Coaching sports professionals, such as the Kent County Cricket team
  • Helping the delivery of landmark projects such as the construction of Heathrow Terminal 5 and the London 2012 Olympics
  • Assisting institutions at the heart of national life in the UK such as The Post Office, Met Office, park run, London Marathon, FTSE Group and BBC Worldwide.

Here is a full list of companies I’ve worked with.

My first book Blamestorming: Why Conversations Go Wrong and How to Fix Them was published by Watkins in September 2014 and is available in 5 languages. The follow-up is Workstorming: Why Conversations at Work Go Wrong and How to Fix Them which was published in September 2016.

I  am represented by Robert Kirby at United Agents.
